Good Fortune Gemstones: Easy Cleansing for Low-Energy Days

Your gemstones feel a little dull, but you’re just too wiped out to give them the care they need…

I totally get it! Sometimes, even thinking about gemstone care can feel overwhelming. That’s why I rely on the simplest cleansing method ever: saltwater cleansing. It’s quick, easy, and always leaves my stones feeling refreshed without much effort.

When Do Gemstones Need Cleansing?

Cleansing gemstones regularly is important to keep their energy vibrant and pure. But how do you know when it’s time to refresh them? Here are some signs to look out for:

  • The stone’s surface looks dull or cloudy.
  • It feels heavy or stagnant when you hold it.
  • The gemstone doesn’t feel as “alive” as it used to.
  • You’ve been through a challenging time and leaned on the stone for support.
  • It’s been exposed to negative energy or stressful situations.

If any of these sound familiar, it might be time to give your stones a little extra care.

My Go-To Gemstone Cleansing Method

When I’m low on energy and can’t handle anything complicated, I always turn to saltwater cleansing. It’s simple, effective, and doesn’t take much effort.

What You’ll Need:

  • A container that’s big enough to cover your gemstones with water
  • Natural salt or coarse salt (just a pinch!)
  • Tap water or mineral water

How to Do It

  1. Place your gemstones in the container.
  2. Sprinkle a small amount of salt over the stones—just enough to lightly cover them.
  3. Pour water into the container until the stones are submerged.
  4. Gently swirl the stones for a few seconds to help dissolve the salt and clear away stagnant energy.
  5. Pour out the water and rinse the stones thoroughly to remove any salt residue.
  6. Let them air dry on a soft cloth or towel.

That’s it! It’s quick, easy, and always makes my gemstones feel lighter and more vibrant.

Give Your Gemstones a Little Extra Love

After cleansing, I like to let my stones rest in natural light—either sunlight or moonlight—whenever possible. Just a few hours can really boost their energy, and it feels like they’re recharging in a gentle way.

Tips to Keep in Mind

  • Know Your Stone: Be careful with stones like lapis lazuli, malachite, selenite, and calcite since they’re sensitive to salt. If you’re unsure, skip the salt and just use water or another method.
  • Be Gentle: Don’t scrub or rub too hard to avoid damaging delicate surfaces.
  • Check for Metal Parts: If your gemstone is part of jewelry, be mindful that salt can corrode metal components.
  • Rinse Well: Make sure to thoroughly rinse off any salt to avoid damage over time.

Other Simple Cleansing Methods

If saltwater cleansing doesn’t feel right for your gemstones, here are a few more easy options:

  • Moonlight Bath: Leave your stones on a windowsill under the moonlight overnight. Full moons are especially powerful!
  • Sunlight Boost: Let your gemstones soak up sunlight for a few hours (but be careful with stones that fade, like amethyst).
  • Smoke Cleansing: Gently waft sage or incense smoke over your stones to clear away negative energy.
  • Sound Cleansing: Use a singing bowl or tuning fork to bathe your gemstones in soothing sound vibrations.

Feel the Difference!

Cleansing your gemstones doesn’t have to be a chore. Even when you’re running on empty, these simple methods make it easy to keep your stones feeling vibrant and full of positive energy. Give it a try and notice how much lighter and more refreshed your gemstones—and you—can feel!
